Država i kapitalizam su najveći poticatelji nasilja, tj. ubijanja ljudi i korištenja sile umjesto diskutiranja kako bi se ostvarilo ciljeve. Nasuprot tome, anarhisti rade na izgradnji svijeta utemeljenog na suglasnosti i dobrovoljnoj suradnji, umjesto na prisili, proizvoljnom autoritetu i nasilju. Stoga je ironično da se, kada je šačica ljudi nakon generalnog štrajka u Oaklandu od 2. studenog (2011., op. prev.) u kojem je sudjelovalo 10,000 ljudi, rano ujutro 3. studenog polomila nekoliko prozora, diskusija u mainstream medijima usredotočila na okrivljavanje anarhista za nasilje i nastojala termine „anarhist“ i „nasilan“ učiniti sinonimima.

Ono što želim reć je da Amerika treba ici postepeno ka eventulano nekim drugim metodama prosvjedovanja, sa postizanjem sto sirim konsenzuom oko sebe, i mislin da na to pisac upucuje, na brigu za ljude oko sebe koji cine veliku vecinu u prosvjedima....

Ono što želim reći, nije isto razbiti izlog u Ateni i Oaklandu, baš zbog te okoline. Da je grčki scenraij od nekidan bio u americi,"occup" prosvjedi bi bili ugašeni u roku minut. Dok je u ateni ovo nasilje dobilo velike sipmatije, možda čak i osnažilo borbu.
